この絵本はSailing with Paros: Our Beautiful World (同作者による英語版オリジナル)の日本語版です。英語版のSailing with Paros では、ヨットに乗っているセ-ラ-が話を語ります。でも、 日本語 版のヨットのパロスのアドベンチャーでは、話の語り手をヨット のパロスが引き受けています。この本は、2025年7月15日に文芸 社より出版されました。
この絵本は、ヨットのパロスがアメリカ東海岸を北のニューヨ -ク近辺からフロリダまで南下する旅のお話を詩の形で書いたも のです。パロスは、海や空が生み出す自然美に感動しながら、又、途中で野生の動物達との出会いを楽しみながらセ-リングを します。ところが、その自然美が汚されていて、川や湾や海など に環境汚染の被害が出ている場面に遭遇。ヨットのパロスは、読 者に向かって自然美を守る様に必死の嘆願。

About the Author
Yaeko Koizumi Knaus
Yaeko Koizumi Knaus was born and raised in Japan. A few years after she graduated from a college in Kyoto, Japan where she studied English language, she had an opportunity to continue her education in the United States of America. While in school she obtained several teaching certificates which included teaching ESL, Japanese Bilingual, Elementary School, Reading Specialist as well as Japanese language. These made it possible for her to enjoy teaching in a public school in New Jersey. After teaching 25 years, she retired in 2015. In addition to teaching at a public school, she also enjoyed teaching the first graders at a Japanese Weekend School for many years.
Yaeko volunteers at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden to enjoy taking care of plants and meeting the visitors from all over the world.
Yaeko values the importance of education and she has been the supporter of higher education. She has been a member of The College Woman’s Club of Westfield for over 25 years which mission is to raise the scholarship fund for higher education of the women in Westfield.
Yaeko currently lives in Miami Beach, Florida.
